  2. (named from the convent garden once on the
  3. site) laid out by Inigo Jones in 1631. The
  4. buildings that formerly housed London's fruit
  5. and vegetable market (moved to Nine Elms,
  6. Wandsworth, in 1973) were adapted for shops
  7. and restaurants. The Royal Opera House, also
  8. housing the Royal Ballet, is here; also the
  9. London Transport Museum.
